Your gift will make room for you in this world.
Pablo Picasso said, “The purpose of life is to find your gift. The meaning of life is to give it away.”
Some stories, parables, and quotes are repeated so often they’re considered cliché. We overlook their value,
but there’s usually a truth buried inside them.
As cliché as the quote may be, it is intriguing. It led me to ask: What happens to the person who never finds their gift, or finds it and decides never to give it away?
What you do with your gift is your responsibility.
A gift, or talent, is something already within us. Our natural abilities and inclinations can clue us into what we are meant to do.
The question is whether we notice the nudge and respond.
Favor is not fair, but it is not random either. Favor follows obedience.
It does not simply choose one person over another. It meets the person willing to recognize what they have been given, act on it,
and steward it well.
Matthew 25:14–30
The Unfaithful Servant
is the individual who fears failure, so they bury their gift (talent), removing any opportunity for it to grow.
The Parable of Talents
Highly Favored Servant
is the individual who dares to act on or invest in their gift (talent) to gain more.
